The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Thailand highlighted the potential of the Thai healthcare system at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2026 conference. This significant platform brings together over 2,000 healthcare leaders from across the Asian region to exchange knowledge, scientific advancements, technologies, and health system management guidelines, while furthering collaboration to elevate service quality and patient care at the regional level.
Akarathan Jitnuyanont, M.D., Deputy Director-General of the Department of Medical Services (DMS), stated that the MOPH continuously prioritizes the development of the country's healthcare system. This comprehensive approach covers health promotion, disease prevention, medical treatment, and rehabilitation. The MOPH aims to elevate service standards by integrating modern medical technologies—such as genetic testing, robotic-assisted surgery, and telemedicine—to enhance service efficiency and expand access to treatment for people in all areas. Thailand hosting HMA 2026 presents a vital opportunity to exchange experiences, scientific knowledge, and health technologies, as well as to strengthen international collaborative networks.
Another crucial mission of the MOPH is the development of the health workforce at all levels, from practitioners to executives, ensuring they possess the knowledge, capabilities, and readiness to adapt to healthcare system transformations. The HMA 2026 conference, held under the theme “Leading Change that Delivers,” covers comprehensive topics including service quality and safety, patient experience, patient care technology, healthcare leadership, and the future direction of public health systems in Thailand and Asia. The knowledge gained from this event will be utilized to further advance healthcare services and personnel development in alignment with future health demands.
Furthermore, the MOPH emphasizes fostering collaboration between public and private healthcare providers to ensure the efficient use of medical resources, seamless patient treatment and referrals, and health data linkage across service units. The Ministry also encourages the public to access their personal health data through the “MohPrompt” system. This digital platform enables healthcare professionals to utilize patient data for continuous care, thereby reducing diagnostic and medication errors and enhancing overall patient safety.
“The Ministry of Public Health is committed to developing the Thai healthcare system to be fully equipped in terms of personnel, scientific advancements, technology, and service standards. We are ready to build collaborations with all sectors, both domestically and internationally, to ensure that the public receives high-quality, safe, and equitably accessible health services. We also strive to propel Thailand into a leading role in medicine and public health within the Asian region.”
